The Danforth or sand anchor was invented by Richard Danforth in the 1940's originally for use in WWII landing craft. Our Danforth anchors are solidly constructed from welded steeel then hot dipped galvanized for maximum strength and durability.

Danforth anchors are very popular due to their ease of setting and retrieval in sandy and muddy bottoms. They lay flat for easy storage and are fitted with a retrieval eye for use with a second rode to facilitate their release when snagged.
