Anchor Buddy Instructions

Setting Up Your Anchor Buddy

 

1. Tie a secure loop in your anchor line about 8 to 10 meters from your anchor.
2. Using the provided shackle, connect one end of the Anchor Buddy to the loop.
3. Using the snap hook, attach the other end of the Anchor Buddy to a cleat or ring.
4. Motor slowly toward the shore, choosing a position with a depth clear of the seabed during low tide.

 

Deploying and Using Anchor Buddy

 

1. When you are about 10–15 meters from shore, drop your anchor and allow the Anchor Buddy to extend as you continue toward the beach.
2. Go ashore with your line and pull firmly until the Anchor Buddy is fully extended and making sure your anchor is holding
3. Step off your boat with your line.
4. Then push the boat gently away from the beach and let the Anchor Buddy pull boat back into deeper water.
5. Tie your line to a beach spike or sand anchor.

Retrieving Your Anchor Buddy

1. Pull your line in until the boat returns to the shore.
2. Remove the beach anchor and line, then get onboard.
3. The Anchor Buddy will automatically pull your boat back into deeper water
4. Start your motor, pull in your anchor.
5. If the anchor is stuck, apply vertical tension and use the boat’s movement to free it.
