Whitsunday Discount Marine recommends 3 strand nylon rope for anchor line due to its stretch and strength. Silver or polypropylene rope is not recommended.
Nylon 3 Strand:
1.4mm of rope diameter per meter of boat length
Chain length = boat length (preferable)
Chain diameter:
8mm anchor line: 6mm chain
10mm anchor line: 8mm chain
12mm anchor line: 8mm chain
14mm anchor line: 8mm chain
16mm to 20mm anchor line: 10mm chain
